Puwapi or Pennylane, two tools that do different jobs

Pennylane is first and foremost an accounting and finance tool, shared with your accountant, with a business account and cards. Puwapi is a small team’s workspace: clients, invoicing, projects, mail and files.

Prices taken on 20 October 2026 from both vendors’ public price lists.

Choose Pennylane if your priority is accounting, banking and working with your accounting firm. Choose Puwapi if your priority is managing your clients, your projects and your team, mail and files included, for €79 excl. VAT a month for up to ten people. Many businesses need both.

Puwapi will suit you if

  • Your books are kept by an accounting firm, which receives a FEC export
  • You want a CRM, projects and client support in the same tool
  • You want mail on your domain, and your team’s files and chat
  • You are up to ten people and want a price that does not depend on the number of users

Pennylane will suit you better if

  • You want to keep full accounts, up to the annual financial statements
  • Your accountant already works in Pennylane
  • You want a business account, cards and bank reconciliation
  • You handle expense reports and a cash flow forecast

What each tool costs

Pennylane sells plans for one or two management users, with no commitment. Beyond two managers, its price list does not publish prices. Puwapi is billed per company, up to ten people on Business.

Add Puwapi in an afternoon

You keep your accounting where it is. Puwapi takes over your clients and your items, and nothing is imported until you have seen what will be created.

  1. 1
    Export your clients

Clients and items, as CSV or Excel, from the tool where you keep them.

  2. 2
    Drop the file into Puwapi

The wizard recognises the columns and shows you the records before creating them.

  3. 3
    Connect your domain

We give you the records to add at your registrar, and each member gets their mailbox.

What people ask us when they use Pennylane

Does Puwapi replace accounting software like Pennylane?

No. Puwapi has no general ledger, no bank reconciliation and no year-end closing. It prepares the quarterly VAT and the FEC export for your accountant. If you keep your own books, or if your accounting firm works in Pennylane, keep it.

Can I use Puwapi and Pennylane together?

Yes, for separate purposes: Pennylane for accounting and banking, Puwapi for clients, projects, and your team’s mail and files. Puwapi has no accounting connector, so nothing moves from one to the other on its own. Choose a single tool to issue your invoices, or you will be tracking them in two places.

Are the invoices already issued carried over?

No. An issued invoice cannot be re-imported: its numbering belongs to the tool that produced it. You keep your history in Pennylane, and Puwapi starts a new sequence.
