Puwapi on your computer

Two apps install on your machine: your team’s file space, and its chat. They connect to your organisation’s Puwapi account and run without a browser tab open.

Puwapi Cloud

Your team’s file space becomes a folder on your machine. You work in your files as usual, and they stay up to date on both sides.

  • A synced folderWhat you drop into the Puwapi folder goes to your space, and what your team adds arrives on your machine.
  • Your team spacesThe app gives access to your organisation’s shared spaces and to your personal space.

Puwapi Chat

Version 0.1.1

Your team’s chat in its own window. A mention reaches your desktop even when the browser is closed.

  • Channels and direct messagesYour team channels and private conversations, with threads, reactions and mentions.
  • Calls and meetingsStart an audio or video call from a channel, with screen sharing.
  • System notificationsMentions appear in the Windows or macOS notification centre when the window is in the background.

Apple Silicon covers Macs with an M1 chip or newer. Models released before 2020 use the Intel version.

On Linux, your Puwapi space remains accessible from the browser.

On first launch

Your system shows a warning the first time, which you only have to get past once.

On Windows

SmartScreen reports an unknown publisher. Click More info, then Run anyway.

On macOS

macOS blocks the app from opening. Open System Settings and go to Privacy & Security: the Open Anyway button appears there right after your attempt.

You need a Puwapi account

These apps connect to your organisation. Create your account, then install them on your team’s computers.
